Hello, I'm Emma
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. I'm an expat living in London, United Kingdom.
A couple of years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't in the original plan for the long run. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job offer and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily chores seemed more convoluted than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating a sense of stability.
Why I Built Homi Quse Lark
Most online guidance hovered between corporate relocation tips and shallow travel content. What was lacking was a truthful, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in United Kingdom.
What This Website Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from residing in United Kingdom
- Shared insights on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated only when there are real changes
This site is not:
- A tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in United Kingdom continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Warm regards,
Emma
